Uniwersytet Medyczny im. Karola Marcinkowskiego w Poznaniu (Poznan University of Medical Sciences, PUMS) is one of Poland’s leading medical universities, recognized for its strong clinical expertise, high-quality training programs, and active role in international research collaborations. With a longstanding focus on advancing medical science and improving patient care, PUMS brings together specialists across neonatology, infectious diseases, pediatrics, and clinical research.
Within IMPROVE PRETERM, PUMS contributes key expertise in neonatal care, infectious disease management, and clinical trials. The team integrates data from Polish neonatal units and European cohort studies, strengthening the project’s ability to compare outcomes across different healthcare settings. PUMS also supports analyses on early-life risk factors, preventive strategies, and long-term follow-up of very preterm infants.
By combining clinical experience with participation in multinational research networks, PUMS enhances IMPROVE PRETERM’s capacity to generate robust evidence that informs practice and improves care for very preterm babies across Europe.
