Epigeny

Epigeny is a privately held small-to-medium enterprise specializing in computer science services for epidemiological research. The company is a key contributor to the OBiBa open-source software suite (obiba.org), with its principal investigator serving as the technical lead of the OBiBa group. All software development at Epigeny follows FAIR principles and is released under open-source licenses to ensure transparency, usability, and sustainability.
Within IMPROVE PRETERM, Epigeny designs and implements privacy-preserving data management and analysis solutions that enable researchers to securely use large-scale health data across countries. The team will enhance core OBiBa applications, develop new functionalities tailored to the project’s needs, and support partners in deploying these tools within their local IT environments. Through this work, Epigeny plays a central role in strengthening and sustaining the project’s technical infrastructure.
Yannick Marcon

Research Software Engineer
I am one of the original authors and current maintainer of the OBiBa software suite, which provides tools for epidemiological studies including data collection, storage, and cataloging, in close collaboration with Maelstrom Research at McGill University and various EU-funded research projects. I am also a core developer of the DataSHIELD framework for federated and privacy-preserving analysis.
