The University of Zurich (UZH) is one of the leading research universities in Europe and a member of the League of European Research Universities (LERU). It is a world leader in research in medicine, business and economics, and several of the natural sciences. The University’s international standing is reflected in the many distinctions awarded to its members over the years, including 12 Nobel Prizes. Newborn Research Zurich from the Department of Neonatology at UZH has joined IMPROVE PRETERM as an Associated Partner. We coordinate the Swiss Neonatal Network & Follow-up Group which hosts SwissNeoNet, the medical registry of all Swiss very preterm born infants. Our aim is to assist in developing use cases in comparative effectiveness research in order to facilitate approaching causal inference in neonatal research, and to help improve long-term outcome monitoring of very preterm born children at early school age.
